Progress on Dogress, plus a small TTRPG app!
I've been learning Unity in preparation to finish up Dogress Bar, which is coming along very differently than how I originally intended it. While I still think a virtual pet would be a very neat theme for a TF game, I really struggled to find a way to make using a v-pet actually, y'know, fun, haha. So, with the shift in gameplay direction, I decided to shift the visual presentation as well, adding a whole new dimension!
Dogress Bar, in its current form, will be a very short 3D pseudo-rhythm game, focused on F -> F dog TF. I learned the basics of Blender and made the character models and some animations during Bendzz's recent game jam, and I built a small dice rolling app in a few days to learn Unity, C#, and Unity's shadergraph.
Now I have most of the assets and all of the skills I need to finish up Dogress Bar! Now I just need to figure out how far to go with the transformation.... The story works equally well with the main character ending up anthro or semi-feral, but it seems like I should go for just one. Hmmm....
Edit 8/24/2022:
Semi-feral had a few very vocal proponents, but most people I asked preferred anthro (or suggested taur! That was actually pretty frequent).
So, here's a preview of my rough draft of the transformation:
As I explained in my comment to WaffleGod17 below, this is pretty far from final.
I’m not sure if this character, or even this visual style will be what I end up with for the final product (who knows, I might let my scope creep up a bit and try to do more than one character), but this model was adapted from a model by Chained-Tan.

when is it coming out?
I’m not sure, haha. I was able to make this dice roller in about 5 days, but this one’s more complex, and I’m starting to get busy with college stuff. I doubt I’ll have it ready by the end of “Dogust,” but I’m making steady, if admittedly slow, progress.
As a teaser though, here are some still frames from my current draft of the transformation!
I’m not sure if this character, or even this visual style will be what I end up with for the final product (who knows, I might let my scope creep up a bit and try to do more than one character), as this model was adapted from a model by Chained-Tan, and there are some issues with my adaptation that I don’t know how to fix (the elbows in particular, because they used to be a jacket rather than bare arms, haha).
Okay I look forward to seeing it!
Anthro is fun and cute imo personally!
Noted!
